About EPA! – Our Story
EPA! – Escola de Português e Arte was born in Brazil in 2014, with a focus on teaching Brazilian Portuguese in a practical, engaging, and culturally immersive way.
Our very first class took place during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, when people from all over the world came to Brazil and needed to communicate quickly in everyday situations. It was during this moment that EPA introduced its innovative, conversation-based methodology — designed to help students speak naturally from day one.
Over the years, we continuously refined our teaching approach, combining modern language-learning techniques with deeper cultural immersion. Brazilian music, films, traditions, food, and real-life expressions became an essential part of every class.
Today, EPA is based in New York City, offering in-person and online classes to students from around the world. With more than a decade of experience, EPA continues to grow while staying true to its mission: teaching Portuguese through culture, connection, and real communication.
